Local research and global outreach with John Gatewood

Dr. John Gatewood, Professor of Anthropology, has pursued an especially active research agenda lately, studying the factors that grain farmers in eastern Pennsylvania perceive as influencing their livelihood and agricultural success. This research, based on fieldwork carried out in and around the Lehigh Valley for the past few years, is now coming to fruition and John has given invited presentations about it in March at the University of Verona (Itality) and in May at the University of Bergen (Norway). Moreover, he has been invited to give workshops in research methodology focusing on cultural consensus analysis, most recently in March at the Society for Applied Anthropology annual conference in Pittsburgh and in May at the University of Bergen.
