Attend a talk for Public Health Week (April 6-12)

Sociologists and anthropologists play a major role in public health research and projects. We observe this year's National Public Health Week through a number of campus events including:

  • On Tuesday, April 7, two of our alumni (Zahir Carrington, sociology BA '11 and sociology MA '12, and Hope Kincaid, anthropology MA '09) will take part in the Careers in Health panel discussion, beginning at 4:10 p.m. in STEPS 101.
  • On Thursday, April 9, the department is pleased to co-sponsor a public lecture by Dr. Ellen Foley, medical anthropologist at Clark University. Her talk, "Regulating Sex Work: Subjectivity and Stigma in Senegal," begins at 4:10 p.m. in Maginnes 113.
